Hi @Kenn021,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To resolve the issue of being unable to save scanned documents to a network shared drive due to validation errors on an HP printer, you can follow the troubleshooting steps below:

Verify Network Drive Access:

  • Ensure that the network shared drive is properly set up and accessible from other devices on the network. Test accessing the shared drive using another computer with the same credentials you are attempting to use with the printer.

Correct Credentials:

  • Double-check that you are using the correct username and password for the network shared drive. Ensure there are no typos, extra spaces, or incorrect capitalization that might cause authentication failures.

Network Settings:

  • Check that the printer is connected to the same network as the shared drive. Verify the network settings on both your printer and the drive to ensure they are aligned.

Set Up Share Permissions:

  • Confirm that the user account you are using has the necessary read/write permissions to save files to the network location.

Security Software:

  • Ensure that there is no security software or firewall on the network or your computer that might block the printer from accessing the shared drive.

Use IP Address Instead of Hostname:

  • When configuring the network drive access on the printer, try using the IP address of the computer hosting the shared drive instead of its hostname.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Access the printer’s EWS (Embedded Web Server) by entering its IP address into a web browser from a computer on the same network. From there, navigate to the storage settings to configure or verify the correct setup of network folders.

Password Format:

  • Ensure that the password used does not have unsupported characters that might cause validation issues.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
