Laserjet M281FDW

I have two Laserjet M281's one in location A is on a conventional wifi network and there are no problems printing to it.

The other is connected to a TP-Link Deco P9 mesh Wifi network in a another city (location B) and in an office where Wifi signal is strong, but no device (several windows 10 laptops and Apple phones ) can print to it.

The Deco P9 operates on 2.4 and 5GHZ, the printer has been set to a fixed IP address 168.192.1.111 on subnet 255.255.255.0 and I have tried the printer on 2.4GHZ and mixed using the menu selector.

Running the printer wireless test report gives the information that the printer can see "more than one access point .... matches the networks SSID"

This happened with a previous mesh wifi system so isn't router dependent.

The wifi configuration is :

SSID: Home-is-where-the-wifi-is
Protocol: Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n)
Security type: WPA2-Personal
Network band: 5 GHz
Network channel: 40
Link-local IPv6 address: fe80::dccd:26ff:5588:eb1a%20
IPv4 address: 192.168.0.118
IPv4 DNS servers: 192.168.0.1

Help appreciated

@lostsomewhere

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

As I understand the IP on the printer is 192.168.1.111 & the router IP is 192.168.0.118. They are in different range. They have to be in the same range.

Let's restore the network settings on the Printer: Go to the network setup menu>restore defaults.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Accept as solution" button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
