I am getting vertical streaks on my transfer belt which of course ultimately show up on printed pages. I have completely cleaned the belt, rotating it through to get the whole belt clean, and the next page I print brings the streaks back. Thank you for any assistance!

I will try and assist.Normally there is a cleaning unit fitted onto the ITB for cleaning the belt after a print. Not sure about this model but i would remove the ITB unit and inspect it for a cleaning unit and if found would clean it.Be careful when handling the ITB because damage can not be rectified and will show on copies.Try to find a manual to guide you to the process of removing the ITB.Hope this will help.

You probably have a defective toner cartridge.
What color are the streaks, the color will tell you which cartridge is defective.

The 1600 uses an ETB which is an Electrostatic Transfer belt, when it works properly Toner is transfered from the drums directly to the paper so there should be no residue on the belt.
Since there is toner on the belt that means it is coming out of the toner cartridge(s) when it should not be, which is why it indicates a defective cartridge.
