When printing, the document comes out with a black streak/line which starts at the top of the page and about two inches from the left margin and goes down throughout the page. I have tried cleaning the interior of the printer to no avail. Your help/input is appreciated.

usually this is a bad cartridge. are you using a genuine HP cartridge? If so, what % of the cartridge is left.
do you have another cartridge you can put in the printer and try?
Usually a think black like down the page is an indicator that something has fouled the cleaning blade of the cartridge, paper dust or adhesive from a label sheet it usally the culprit.
If its the fuser, cheaper to just replace the printer.

If you print a config page and check the engine cycles, it might give you a good idea of how much you've printed- I generally see these fusers fail around 120-150k prints, but around 300k is the max ive seen in the field-
If you can spin the printer around and open the rear access door, you may be able to see the fuser rollers with a flashlight. The orangish colored one will probably be the one with the line on it, if thats where this is coming from. probably the film on it has failed, or something scratched it. You can try and run cleaning pages through tray 1 if you havnt already, but generally the line will come back right away.

To confirm the issue is the fuser and not the toner cartridge perform what is called a half test. Open the paper tray and place a sheet of paper on the fold down manual tray in front. Do a self test from the menu on the printer and when the back edge of paper enters the printer, quickly open the toner door to stop printing. Remove the toner cartridge and look at the image below. If the defect is present, the issue is the toner cartridge and nothing else. If the line is not there, then the fuser teflon sleeve is defective and the fuser will need to be replaced.
