Thanks for posting in the community. I read the post regarding issues with not able to connect the printer to the network after changing your router. I will assist you and let’s get right to it. Excellent analysis and precise diagnosis of the issue It is appreciated greatly.
Let me gather some information for better clarity to assist you correctly:
- Please provide the complete model number and product number of the printer to assist you accurately?
- Did you restore network defaults on the printer and check if you can connect again?
- Are you able to access the EWS page of the printer?
Thank you and have a great day ahead.

I read your quick response and your dedicated approach to resolve the issue is greatly appreciated. I have a roadmap for you and let’s work towards it.
Here are the steps:
- Perform a hard reset on the printer from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m125-series/5396664/model/5303404/document/... (HP Printers - Paper Mismatch Error (Mac)
- Follow instructions from the section “Step 2: Reset the printer”
- Then from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m125-series/5396664/model/5303404/document/... (HP Printers - Printer Not Found During Network Driver Setup (Mac)
- Perform this step for now. Step 1: Restart the computer, printer, and router
- Then from the user guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03628466 restore factory defaults on the printer. Refer to page 75 for steps on how to do it.
Then perform these steps:
- Then update the printer firmware also by following instructions from this link: https://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/c02919168
- There is an associated YouTube video on how to do it. Use a USB cable to do it.
From the same link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m125-series/5396664/model/5303404/document/... (HP Printers - Printer Not Found During Network Driver Setup (Mac)
- Perform step 3 which is Step 3: Manually connect the printer to your network (wireless connections only)
- Later remove the printer from your MacBook and add it again only as an AirPrint or Secure AirPrint printer and not as an HP printer.
- This should fix the issue.
- If it continues, then connect the printer as a USB printer and change it to a wireless connection by following instructions from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m125-series/5396664/model/5303404/document/... (HP Printers - Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection)
- This should nail it.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help
Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂

I read the quick response. It does not have a WPS button. That is on the router. The printer has a wifi button. Thanks for trying all the steps and your patience is appreciated greatly.
Check this user guide link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03628466 and refer to pages 103-105 for complete information on how to resolve wireless related issues including a checklist for wireless connectivity. The control panel set up on page 7 will give information on where the wireless button is. Make sure that it is enabled.
Also, the easiest thing to do is to install it as a USB printer and change the connection to a wireless one. If you follow instructions from this document: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m125-series/5396664/model/5303404/document/... (HP Printers - Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection) it should resolve the issue for you.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help
Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
