LaserJet Pro MFP M148dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to re-set my printer default to single-sided printing. The HP chat-bot gave me only the instruction on how to make it default to duplex. The HP-people who have answered this question on this bulletin board have also given advice that is exactly the opposite of what I'm trying to do.

Yes, I know I can manually turn duplexing off every time I print. Yes, I know I could make another print settings profile that I could manually select every time I print.

Please tell me how to re-set (turn off ) the default settings that make my LaserJet Pro MFP M148dw always print duplex. I'd like to have my LaserJet Pro MFP M148dw ALWAYS print single-sided, unless I manually select duplex.

If that isn't possible, please tell me that, so I quit wasting my afternoon looking all over the web and the HP website for instructions.

Here's a diagram to illustrate:

Duplex-printing function is the factory default >>>>>>>> Make it print single-page by default

Welcome to HP support community.

Follow these steps to turn of duplex printing:

1. From the software program, select the Print option.

2. Select the printer from the list of printers, and then click the Properties or Preferences button to open the print driver.

3. Click the Finishing tab.

4. Uncheck Print on both sides. Click OK to close the Document Properties dialog.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
