LaserJet Pro M377dw

Hi,

I'm having similar issues to the ones reported in https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/Wavy-vertical-lines/td-p/5642299 and http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/LaserJet-M477-prints-some-lines-in-italics-and-vertic... . I bought a brand new Color LaserJet Pro M377dw printer yesterday and noticed this on the very first print job I attempted.

It is not a driver / OS issue, as it occurs when printing the Graph "Quick Form" through the settings page. It is also noticeable on bar charts that I print from Microsoft Word / Microsoft Excel. The distortion is bad enough to make this printer unusable for any graphics with straight lines.

Given that there are a number of reports on this issue, is there any way I can get this fixed or resolved? Is there an official HP response to this?

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks!

Since its brand new and under warranty you should contact HP tech support rather than just asking Volunteers in the forum for help.

To contact support find the support page for the machine on hp.com and look for the contact link.

Since its brand new you can also return the machine and either try another of the same model or a different model.

I would advise that make sure when talking to support that they do not send an exchange unit as they will likely send a refurbished unit to replace your new printer.

Thanks for the response; I'll take it back to the store and try another unit.

I was hoping it would be something that I was doing wrong and wouldn't involve carrying it back / repackaging it 🙂

Well, I took it back to the store and exchanged it for another unit.

I'm still getting wavy lines on the "Graph Paper" function, but, they aren't as bad. I've also tried on two different paper types with the same results.

I'm going to try calling HP support and see if they have any other suggestions. I'm hoping it's just a bad batch of toners, otherwise, I'm packaging it back up and returning it again...

I'm seeing this problem as well on my printer. I'm dealing with HP Support at the moment and hoping that I'll get some new cartridges to sort it out. It's very annoying for a printer brand new out of the box!

Cheers, Chris W.
