Hello, I recently bought an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M130fw, as I wanted a printer that can easily connect to the wifi and internet so i am able to print from whatever place I want to.
The problem is, that I can't print with the printer through the wi-fi, everything works fine when I connect USB from printer to pc, but once it's wi-fi, my pc lists that the printer is offline, and yes the printer and pc are on the same wi-fi network.
The printer is successfully connected to the wifi network. But when I want to print from Microsoft Office or Adobe Acrobat, it can't connect to the printer. I have used the driver/application guide from HP's website to set up the wi-fi printing. The program successfully finds and connects the printer, but once the program says that it succeded in connecting the printer to wi-fi, an error message pops up:
Translated from Danish:
"No communication can be made with the printer"
"Try to change the IP address"-
Hope you can help me to solve this problem
Best Regards
Math.

Hello, thanks for the help, your instructions are easy to understand. I have completely done what you said and uninstalled everything. I use the full feature driver software, but now the software doesn't even find the printer anymore. I doublechecked that my pc and printer are connected successfully to the same wi-fi network and yes they are.
The software asks to enter the IP address, I go to the printer and click on the wi-fi network. I use the IPv4 addresses which are displayed on the printer when I paste the address on the software, it searches for the printer but fails to find it.
Best Regards

It looks like you were interacting with @Barachiel, but he is out for the day. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.
Please restart the Router, computer and perform the Printer Reset
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed
Try connecting again and your computer should detect the Printer.
If the issue persists, run a wireless test on the printer
1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, swipe until the Setup menu displays. Touch the Setup icon to open the menu.
2. Scroll to and select Self Diagnostics.
3. Select Run Wireless Test to start the test. The printer prints a test page that shows test results.
4. Send me a picture of the Results
Keep us posted
Thank you

Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉
I appreciate your time and efforts,
In this case, I request you to follow this link, run print and scan doctor, also follow this link and update the firmware of the printer.
Once done, re-start the computer and the printer, try printing again.
Let me know. 🙂

Still no luck. I successfully updated the firmware through the PC-Printer USB cable. I tried the doctor software, and it could not find the printer through wifi. Checked 3 times and my PC and printer are connected successfully to the exact same wifi-network.
This is very annoying, the printer and all its functions work just fine through the USB cable, but not through the wi-fi.
The printer appears as 'offline' when I go to printers in my windows. When I try to add the printer with the HP automated set up the program, it finds the printer, but then it comes with the message, that it failed to communicate with the printer 😞
Best Regards Math.

Thanks for answer 🙂
Still no luck, I use the HP Smart APP to convert it, it successfully converts it and adds the printer to the wireless network. But after I remove the USB printer from my devices and try to search for the printer through the wi-fi, it can't find the printer. I can't add the printer through the wi-fi, my pc can't find it.
Printer and PC are on the same wifi network.
Best Regards.

I read the post. Great efforts and commitment displayed to try and resolve the issue. It is greatly appreciated. As @Barachiel is out for the day, I am responding on his behalf.
Does the printer connect to any other device on the wireless network, like a tablet, iPad or another windows-based machine?
- If it does and prints correctly from those devices on the network, then the issue is with this computer.
- Backup your important data. Then perform a reset of Windows 10 by following directions from this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04742289
- Then download and install the printer drivers from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m130-series/9365370/m...after selecting the correct operating system.
- Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.
- This should fix the issue.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
