HPs compatibility chart shows the 2200 supports PCL 6, unless you have a certain need for PCL5 why not use the current UPD that is fully supported by WIN 11?

So using the USB Win 11 no longer recognizes the HP Laserjet 2200 via USB plug and play.

In Device Manager, it shows up as unknown device.

And unfortunately, in the Printer setup you can not specify the USB port correctly. It was identifying in as "Port_#0005.Hub_#001" and that could not be specified correctly in the printer setup under IPP Device & Port.

I was however successful by adding a Network Card (HP Laserjet 2200DN) and connecting it to my

network router but interestingly, then my router also didn't show it initially listed with an IP address.

I had to search the router advanced setting where i found the port and IP address.

Now manually adding the printer and adding the IP address in Printer setup, it does choose a PCL6 driver and recognizes it as the HP Laserjet 2200DN.

I've owned this printer for over 20 yrs and its printed nearly 2 million pages. Only once did i have the diffuser changed. It's a beast and i love it.

The DN models should have had a jetdirect card installed from factory.  Glad to hear you got it working. Your stated page count is impressive.

The older ethernet card had failed some years ago and was removed.

This Printer has been connected to a MAC, a Win 95, Win XP, Win 7, Win 10 computers over the years.

And now a Win 11 computer.

I have used every type of data port on the machine.

Can still get toner cartridges (96A) pretty cheap, i may stock up on some more.
