My HP Officejet 4500 does not find my user name in Wizard Mode, only in Manual mode, and it will not keep the password WPA associated with it. I tried to access the HP online setup table but it crawls.

I am so desperate that I prefer to move with my laptop and print via printer cable (which I can't seem to get working either).

Hi @Ursula01,

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! 🙂 I see you are trying to connect your HP Officejet 4500 to your wireless network but it does not find the printer.

This printer needs to be installed using the Apple updates as there are no full feature software and drivers available for download. See below to get started:

Installing a Mac Printer Driver Using Apple Software Update

Now you can continue troubleshooting here: 'Printer Offline' or 'Printer Not Responding' Message (OS X)

I hope this helps. Let me know the outcome. If this resolves the issue please let others know by marking this post as "Accept as Solution".  To simply say thanks, click the "Thumbs up" below!  🙂  If you require further assistance let me know and I will gladly do all I can to help.

Super, I now am connected by UBS cable, and my printing is superfast. Perhaps I can revisit printing via WiFi w/o having to set my Router name and WPA every time I wanna print, with days between doing so!

@Ursula,

Thanks for the update! Glad to see you are up and printing again. Which is the Exact model of HP 4500 you are using, is it the G510n or G510g?

Hope to hear from you soon, so we can try and get the printer back on your wireless network! Smiley Happy
