Why won't my printer work but my scanner does?

Hi @Zeleni

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the concern. If the scanner is working but the printer is not, that helps narrow down the issue because it suggests the device still has communication with the computer or network. I appreciate you reaching out for assistance.

To better understand what's happening and provide the most relevant guidance, could you share a few details?

• What is the exact HP printer model?
• What operating system are you using (Windows 11, Windows 10, macOS, etc.)?
• How is the printer connected: USB, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet?
• When you try to print, what happens?

  • The print job stays in the queue?
  • An error message appears?
  • The printer remains idle?
  • Blank pages print? • Are you able to print directly from the printer's internal reports (such as a printer status or configuration page)?
    • Have you recently changed anything, such as updating Windows, changing Wi-Fi settings, replacing ink/toner cartridges, or installing new printer software?

If available, please share a screenshot of any error message and let me know whether the issue occurs from all applications or only from a specific program. This will help us identify whether the issue is related to the printer driver, print queue, connectivity, or the printer itself.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
