Welcome to HP Forums @AndrewLindsay,
Thanks for the post.
I understand that you need assistance in resetting the password on your printer, is that right?
Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.
Are you able to copy using the printer?
Please click here for the user guide of your printer.
Follow the reset procedure mentioned on page number 100 in the user guide.
This would restore the printer to factory defaults.
1. On the product control panel, touch the Setup button.
2. Scroll to and touch the Service menu.
3. Scroll to and touch the Restore Defaults button, and then touch the OK button.
The product automatically restarts.
Let me know if this helped.

Found on youtube. Turn off printer, place finger on bottom right of menu screen, and turn printer on. Keep finger on screen until the screen says it “Permanent Storage init”. Then you can setup.
