LaserJet 2550L
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Cartridge carousel jammed after replacing all 4 colour cartridges and will not align with guide slides

This is a very old model (2005) with only lights on operating panel ie no error messages! Prior to replacement "Troubleshooter" showed all green apart from printer port (USB)

There did appear to be a slight twist in the carriage slots, from left to right, but I was able to insert the replacement cartridges without any difficulty.

Any thoughts please

The gearing on one side has likely slipped a cog. There are plenty of how to videos on you tube and user made documentation to resolve. I don't get hands on with this model so I have no personal tips to share.

It's the so called "Sticky Solenoid" problem which is an easily happened problem.

You'll need to take left, right, top, back cover off and formatter case then you can get to it - the Developing-rotary-stopper solenoid.

It's not a hard job to it but you may need a service manual and google for it. (HP 2550,2500,1500 all be fine)

On YouTube find "HP 2500 color only prints yellow".

Just put a V-shape paper in between those two metals to keep them sticky again and that will be done.

There's no need to take the solenoid off from the main frame you'll just need to find an easy way to insert the V-shape paper into it and it'll be done.
