hp laserjet 1536 dnf mgp

Good afternoon, My hp lasers m1536 dnf mfp / gives since today the following message. code 49 switch off and on. after switching on again the same error code keeps coming. even if I have taken the power off the device. What can I do about it. Greeting Patrick Bausewein

The 49 error is the machine receiving data it does not understand, either due to corrupt print file or data from a newer application that contains commands the printer is not able to interpret. To troubleshoot see below.

 

Disconnect any network or usb cables and then power off and on. If it comes to ready then likely there is a corrupt print job stuck in your computer. You need to clear that job from the print spooler and once that is done, update the firmware on the printer to the current revision.

 

If it does not come to ready with no data cables attached then the next step would be to perform a factory restore to see if that solves the issue.
