how to find which will be the correct side for printing and copying. no icon on the paper stack.

Which printer model are you referring to?

Are you talking about how to put the paper in the tray to be printed or copied on?

Or, for putting paper into the document scanner to copy it?

 

Easiest thing to do is put a mark on one side of the paper, put it in the printer and print/copy something and see which side it comes out on depending on how you put it in the printer.
