Make sure that the paper size you are trying to duplex is supported. Do you get a physical accordian style jam or does the paper simply stop in the printer? When the printer duplexes there is a slot that the paper refeeds through and I have seen cases where a small piece of paper jammed in that path can cause issues but not trip a sensor.
