My printer will suddenly now only print using Airprint from my phone and will not print forwarded or diverted emails to its address. I use it to automatically print incoming orders and it has done this for years but will not now do this.

Please help.

Hi @plds,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how disruptive this is, especially when you rely on automatic email-to-print for orders. The fact that AirPrint works but email printing stopped suggests the issue is with HP ePrint or cloud services, not the printer hardware.

Here’s what you can do:

Step 1: Confirm HP ePrint Status

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to: Setup → Web Services → Print Info Page.
  • Check if Web Services are enabled and the printer has an active email address.
  • If disabled, turn them back on.

Step 2: Check HP ePrint Server

  • Sometimes HP’s ePrint service experiences outages or account issues.
  • Log in to your HP account: 👉 HP Smart
  • Verify your printer is listed and linked to your account.

Step 3: Update Firmware

Even if you have the latest, recheck for updates: 👉 HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw | HP® Support

Step 4: Reset Web Services

  • On the printer:
    1. Disable Web Services.
    2. Power cycle the printer.
    3. Re-enable Web Services and get a new printer email address.
  • Test by sending a simple email (no attachments) to the new address.

Step 5: Check Email Forwarding Rules

  • Ensure your email forwarding/diversion rules are still active and sending to the printer’s HP ePrint address.
  • Some email providers update security settings that block auto-forwarding.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
