Thank you for this.  I googled the error message and this came up.  I bought the same printer recently, hooked it up properly and it was driving me nuts to try to figure out what that meant!  They really should include that in the list of error message the printer prints out on first shot!

Great! Thanks for the information. I should have noriced it because there was also a long orange plastic  strip that had to be removed from the ink cartridge too.

Worked like a champ for me too on the M1212nf MFP.  Would have been nice if it was in the manual, especially considering how simple the solution.

My printer was working fine before this message appeared. There is no orange tab. It was removed days ago. Thhis error could be caused by a non-HP toner or a defective one. Change the toner if there is no orange tag.

Same problem happend to my printer, but when the toner had been moved and inserted again the message did not appear any more
