There's definitely no paper stuck in there. I've tried both a hard reset and a factory reset, but still getting the same message. has anyone found a solution to this problem?

If you are getting a paper jam error message then either you have paper jammed in there or a flag is either broken or sticking. Check the fuser unit carefully, it is very easy to get a jam there that is not really visisble.
