I have an HP Color Laser Jet MFP M281fdw printer that I purchased a couple years ago. It's still going strong, but I noticed recently that it's been discontinued. I've seen numerous posts in this community about compatibility problems with third-party toner, so I intend to stick with HP toner as long as possible.
My question: how long will HP continue to manufacture toner for this specific printer - i.e., how soon do I need to stock up?
Thanks!

Welcome to HP support community.
There is no exact date specified to provide for toner availability.
I hope that helps.

You can check HP part store to check the stocks:- Click here
However, there is no date or time available about the toner discontinuity.
Cheers.

First, that link goes to parts, not toner, so not helpful. Second, when I go to the page for toner (https://store.hp.com/us/en/mdp/toner-cartridges/hp-202-toner-cartridges#!&tab=vao), I don't see a way to "check the stocks" (i.e., how much inventory is on hand) - I can only see whether the toner is available or not. You do understand that going to the web site one day to find out the toner is unavailable is exactly what I'm trying to avoid, right?
I can understand if you can't give me an exact date when this toner cartridge will be discontinued, but it would be useful to know whether I'm looking at one year or ten...

This might require on one one interaction to assist you with this.
I request you to talk to HP support.
They might have multiple options to help you with this.
- Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
- Select the country.
- Enter the serial of your device.
- Select the country from the drop-down.
- Click on "Show Options".
- Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
I hope that helps.
