Perform a hard reset on the printer. Unplug the power cord from the back, and leave it out for 30 seconds.

How are you connected, USB or wireless? If USB, change the USB cable.

If that does not work, try to uninstall and re-install the software and drivers.

Thank you for your reply. It happens when no USB cable is connected at all. It used to happen once every minute but, of late, it will sometimes go for hours without printing spontaneously and then will start acting up again.

I don't know what did it but the problem appears to have resolved itself. Thank you for your assistance!

Hi,

my laserjet 1010 printer works with win 7 32bit but it doesnt work in win 8 64bit.

I tried several drivers from hp support (vista 32. vista 64 . win 2000. win 8 64bit) but all of them doesnt solve the problem.

I have tried hard restarting of printer by unpluging and repluging it again, and also I change the USB connection port, but in the device manager on the printer name (hewlett-packardhp laserjet 1010) a question mark showing that the problem remain.

Thanks

Boroon
