Hi Jon,

Please find logs attached in the email I have sent to you.

Contents of %ProgramData%\HP\Installer
Setupapi.dev.log from %Windir%\inf folder
Windowsupdate.log from %windir%
HPSLPSVC*.log from %Windir%\temp - This did not exist.

I have sent all the other files requested.

I would be happy to assist you in anyway. I have this exact issue. In my case here are the pertinent facts:
- I have a brand new Asus PC based on an AMD A8-6500 chip
- It came with Windows 8 preinstalled.
- I immediately installed all of the Windows 8 updates to bring it up to the most current version of 8
- I then went to the Windows store and installed the free 64 bit Windows 8.1 upgrade and the did a handful of updates after that
- I tried to install the full HP Photosmart C6180 suite (AIO_CDA_FSW_Full_Win_WW_140_408.exe)
- It extracted and started to execute, but got stuck for an hour or so while checking the system
- I stopped it and then tried the download several more times, however in the subsequent tries the wizard never appeared, but I could see in the task manager that the setup was running and taking 30% of the cpu.

Based on the lead post of this thread, it appears to be an issue with 8.1 and AMD chips.

I would be happy to send you any logs you wish to see if you can tell me the best way to do that.

I posted some time ago that we have a scrubber that might help with this problem.

Please PM me with and email address and I will send you a copy of the scrubber to try out.

Also if you could send me logs as a zip file

The zip file would ideally contain

Contents of %ProgramData%\HP\Installer
Setupapi.dev.log from %Windir%\inf folder
Windowsupdate.log from %windir%
HPSLPSVC*.log from %Windir%\temp

If you have collected logs please PM me and I will send you an email address to send them to.

Thanks

We  installed 2 identical Lenovo Yoga 2 Pros in December.  We have a wirelessly attached C510 ALL-in-one and no other printer on the network.  On the first install, the entire HP Solutions installtion worked after several attempts.  ON the second the HP INstalltion hangs with no message at about 30% CPU utilization in the task manager.   The iinstall wizard always says there is a problem with the driver (at the beginning) and always re-downloads the entire 220mb file.  Takes a long time during regular hours, 1 minute at 6am.

I should note that although the printer works from both Yogas, the full featured HP Solutions is only on the one system.

I have had the C510 for a few years.  The funny thing is that on our previous computers Dell XPSs, I could only install the HP Solutions product on one also......

Any solution in the works....

Hi, I have the same problem.

Brand new windows 8.1 PRO installation. Windows original in English UK, with Regional settings in Polish.

I have a HP c309g All in One Printer.

I downloaded this file http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL29699/mp-109711-1/PS_AIO_06_C309g-m_140_408.exe and tried to install it.

I tried many times but it hangs here: checksystem.png

I collected the logs running the log collector.

I am going to send somehow the logs to JonW.

I'll let you know the results

I was able to resolve. I used the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows and it found the printer and downloaded once again the software/drivers and everything seems to be working fine now.

Dear Sir,

I also tried to install B110a on my Sony laptop Windows 8.1. I tried also HP software Wizard and it downloads the file, after extracting it hangs up. It is running in the background as I can see from the task manager just like all others. Could you please help?

Thanks!

Kind regards,

Well I have followed the advice from Jon then I deleted the HPOINS***.dat in the windows directory.

Once done, ran again the installation process and everything worked fine.

Hope it will helpful for you
