My printer prints the following message:

"A problem has occurred with your HP account and you will be unable to print very soon unless the issue is resolved.

The exclamation mark flashes on the device and the indicator to the right of it (U with three dots inside, presumably the indicator for the “cartridge”)

Hi @rudi301

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the exact message and the indicators you’re seeing. I want to make sure we fully understand the situation before moving into any steps.

Could you please share your HP unit's serial number or product number with us.

Need help finding your product number? We've got you covered! Check out this handy guide:

Let me ask a few clarifying questions so we can isolate what’s happening:

  • When did this message first start appearing—was it after a recent update, cartridge change, or account sign‑in?

  • Are you currently signed in to your HP account on the printer or through the HP App on your computer/phone?

  • Does the printer still allow you to print right now, or has printing already stopped?

  • Have you recently replaced or installed new cartridges, and if so, are they standard or Instant Ink subscription cartridges?

  • Is the flashing exclamation mark constant, or does it only appear when you try to print?

  • Do you see any other warnings or notifications in the HP App or on your computer alongside this printer message?

Once we have these details, we’ll be able to pinpoint whether the issue is linked to the account, the cartridges, or the printer’s internal status.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
