It could be many things.  First if you have a eio network card installed, with the power off remove the card and power on the printer and see if it comes to ready. This printer used the 615N network card which is known to cause all sorts of issues when then go bad. If the printer works with the card removed, report back for instructions on how to maybe fix the card. If no card or still freezes you may want to perform a NVRAM reset which can sometimes help.

NVRAM initialization
CAUTION Initializing NVRAM will reset the serial number, the event log, the page counts, the
calibration settings, and the EIO card. Use the Service menu to restore the serial number
and page counts. You will also need to reconfigure any computers that print to this printer to
recognize the printer. Initialize NVRAM only when absolutely necessary. In most situations,
use a Cold reset to reset printer variables but still retain the needed values in the Service
menu.
Before initializing NVRAM, print a configuration page and a supplies status page to gather
the following information:
● Total page count and color page count
● Transfer kit count
● Fuser kit count
● Serial number
To initialize NVRAM
1. Turn the printer on and watch the control panel display.
2. When the display begins showing the memory count, press and hold until all three
lights on the control panel are lit.
3. Press .
4. Press PAUSE/RESUME for the HP Color LaserJet 5500 or press STOP for the HP Color
LaserJet 5550. The display should show SKIP DISK LOAD.
5. Press until NVRAM INIT is highlighted.
6. Press . The printer will initialize NVRAM and then continue its power-on sequence.

If still an issue try an engine test with the attached instructions.  If you get a printed page of lines, then the formatter probably has an issue.  Most times you get the memory count first and then the initializing on the printer which usually means the memory is fine but the formatter or firmware has issues.

Gut feeling is if nic card installed, that is your problem.

Hi David.

Thanks. I already tried NVRAM, removing network card, taking out and put it back: RAM & formatter.

I didn't do the test print, from the hole.

I have order the RAM & formatter, so i will see what it does.

Thanks.
