I have a laser printer that was working.  I did a firmware update and now I can not connect to the printer at all either by USB or wireless.  Both the status and power lights blink continuously and the wireless light doesn't come on at all.  My computer says that printer is offline and doesn't recognize that it is connected via USB.

thanks

Could you please provide the exact link you used to download the firmware?

It is possible that you used a file meant for some other model. In that case your best bet is to contact the HP service centre in your area. However, let us not jump to conclusions before seeing the link 🙂

Which of the two links did you use?

The second one seems to be correct but if you used the first one then you may have to contact the service centre indeed.

Updating the firmware is an extremely delicate procedure. First, the file used for updating must be meant for exactly the device you are applying the update to. Second, any interruptions or glitches during the process often mean damage that cannot be repaired at home.
