Product: HP Color Laserjet Pro mfp m177fw
Operating System: macOS 14.0 Sonoma

I have a teacher with an MBA running Sonoma.  When I try to add the printer using AirPrint or HP Jetdirect, neither one of them is apply the correct driver.  If I try to manually add the driver using CUPs, this printer is not there. 

 

 I need to find a correct driver for this particular printer that supports macOS Sonoma and higher.

I understand that when attempting to add the printer on macOS Sonoma, AirPrint and HP Jetdirect are not applying the correct driver, and the manual CUPs option does not list this printer. To guide you further, could you confirm the exact HP printer model you are working with? Additionally, it would help to know whether the printer is connected via USB or network, and if any drivers were previously installed on this Mac for the same printer.

As I said before, I am working with the printer model listed.   I am using IP to connect to it. I know I can use a USB cable but it is not ideal for the teacher.
