my laserjet P1606dn stopped automatic double sided printing

Hello, my HP laserjet P1606 dn printer stopped printing auto double sided. The auto double side printnig desappeared from the printing menu. I check the option in the general "printers and scanners" windows page but when i try to print it still doesn't appear as an otion. I 'd appreciate any help. Thanks

Hi,
Make sure the Automatic Duplexing option is enabled:

Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.

Now Automatic Duplexing should become available.

I'm having the same problem. Very frustrating as duplex printing is the reason I bought this model!

When I open the Device Settings tab, there is no opportunity to  set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed.

The only mentions of duplex printing are in a box called Duplex Mode, which includes these options:

Allow Automatic Duplexing

Allow Manual Duplexing

What can I do to resolve this?

Hi,

Select Allow Automatic Duplexing, then you should be able to select Auto Duplex Pritning withint eh Finishing tab of the Printing Preferences Screen.

Hi! Thanks for your time. I did that but still can't print doyble sided automatically. In the printing menu -> printer properties -> finishing still only appears the print manually option

It has to be windows problem as when I installed thw printer in another pc it worked normally. Also when I installed another double-sided printer in my system it didn;t work as well. So I have to find some windows expert 🙂

I have been following these instructions for months to get my computer to recognize that my printer will duplex print, but for some reason and without any pattern, I will go in to print and the duplex option will not be there.  I then have to go in and repeat the above instructions.  There has to be a Windows 10 issue with HP duplexing.
