I ran out of toner and the printer sat for awhile. When i finally replaced the toner the printer now will only print the right edge of the page. Any ideas or is my printer dead?113512-012319.jpg

Hi! @inspectorjon, Welcome to the HP Support Community, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you. Please answer a few questions below in order to assist you better.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

What settings are selected for the printer (with regards to paper size etc.)?

Does the issue persist when you make a copy from the printer?

Have you tried printing from a different application?

Are using HP genuine ink cartridges?

Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.

Let's continue with the troubleshooting now.

Replace low, empty or faulty toner cartridges on the printer.

Try printing using a different brand of paper.

Try the steps recommended below.

Open the EWS through HP Printer Assistant, and then turn off EconoMode.

  1. Search Windows for your printer model, and then click the printer name in the list of results.

    HP Printer Assistant opens.

  2. Click Print, and then click HP Device Toolbox.

  3. Click the System tab, and then select the Print Quality page.

  4. In the Economode area, select Off from the drop-down menu.

  5. Print another page to see if the issue is resolved.

Print a cleaning page to resolve issue like fuzzy print or loose, smeared toner.

  1. From the printer control panel, press the Setup  button.

  2. Press the arrow buttons to select Service, and then press OK.

  3. Press the arrow buttons to select Cleaning Page, and then press OK.

  4. Load plain, white paper when you are prompted.

  5. Press the OK button to begin the cleaning process.

  6. Print another page to see if the issue is resolved.

If the copy works fine, uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
Select your HP printer.
Select Uninstall.
In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
Click on Drivers tab.
Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
Select OK.
Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
Close Devices and Printers.
