Hi @Lindalou4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your printer is losing print jobs—the job disappears after you send it. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check Printer Status

Make sure the printer is online and ready.

A paused, offline, or error state can cause jobs to disappear.

Clear the Print Queue and Restart Spooler

Open Devices and Printers, right-click the printer → See what’s printing → Cancel all jobs.

Restart the Print Spooler service in Windows Services to refresh printing.

Confirm Correct Printer Selection

Ensure you are sending the print job to the correct printer.

Sometimes Windows defaults to a different printer or a virtual PDF printer.

Check Connection Type

For Wi-Fi: ensure the printer and PC are on the same network.

For USB: try a different port or cable to rule out intermittent connection issues.

Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver

Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause jobs to vanish.

Download the latest Full Feature HP driver for your model from HP.com and reinstall.

Disable “Use Printer Offline” Mode

In Devices and Printers, right-click your printer → uncheck Use Printer Offline.

This ensures jobs are not being held in the queue.

Test with a Simple Document

Send a small plain-text file to the printer to see if it completes.

If it prints, the issue may be with specific file types or applications.

I hope this helps.
