iOS

We bought a new printer printer color laser jet pro m479fdn and the wireless icon not showing in printer, I used now Ethernet cable but sometimes says your printer offline. How can I connect it to my mifi? When I can’t find the wireless icon on printer. Please help and advise, this is really urgent

There is no wireless in M479fdn.

To support a wireless option the HP printer has a w in sale name. M479fdn no wireless, M479fdw supports wireless.

Thanks for reply, now I use Ethernet cable and sometimes says the printer is offline

Most common cause of offline issues is when the driver for the printer in Windows 10 is configured to use a WSD port instead of a standard TCP/IP port.

Ok, sorry, missed the IOS tag on your first post. When it shows offline, is the printer in sleep or low power mode? Is it possible that your router is dropping the printer network connection when the printer goes to sleep? One test would be the next time it happpens, check the printer and if in low power or sleep mode wake it up and see if it recovers. If the connection does come on with no other interaction then you may need to play with the sleep settings on the printer.
