office jet 4650

Office Jet 4650 does not recognize the HP ink cartridges -- this is the first time i've replaced  the cartridges for this printer.  help?

You’ve done an excellent job of diagnosing the issue from your end.  Kudos to you on that score.  I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂

 

To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did you clean the ink cartridges and check again?

For now, try these steps:

Then from this link:https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-4650-all-in-one-printer-series/5447930/document/c0...  (HP Printers - 'Incompatible Ink Cartridge' or 'Ink Cartridges Missing' Error Displays)

  • Step 1: Make sure the cartridges are compatible
  • Step 2: Remove, inspect, and reseat the cartridges
  • Step 3: Clean the electrical contacts
  • Step 4: Remove and reinsert the cartridges again
  • Step 5: Clean the cartridge contacts again
  • Step 6: Reset the printer
  • Step 7: Check the ink cartridge warranty
  • Step 8: Replace the ink cartridge with a new ink cartridge
  • Step 9: Replace the cartridge (You could contact HP phone support or a local store)

This should fix the issue if the printer’s hardware is not faulty. I am being honest about it by keeping your best interest in mind.

 

HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: 

  1. Click on this link – https://hp.care/2moMFSc
  2. 2) Click on “Continue as guest”.
  3. 3) Enter the serial of your device.
  4. 4) Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. 5) Click on “Show Options”.

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.

Identify the problematic ink cartridge/cartridges and replacing it should do the trick of the printer's hardware is fully functional.

 

IF required only, once the cartridges are recognized, perform all the relevant steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-4650-all-in-one-printer-series/5447930/document/c0... (HP Inkjet Printers - 'Alignment Unsuccessful' Error Message Displays)

 

Perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. Good luck to you. I will keep a watch for your response.
