Hi @Jacsud
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I understand the printer is connected and working, but the scanner on your HP LaserJet MFP M234dw is not currently available on your computer.
Since printing is already working, the connection between the printer and the computer is likely established. The next step is to ensure the scanning components are installed and configured correctly.
- Open the HP App on your computer.
- Verify that the HP LaserJet MFP M234dw appears in the HP App and shows as ready.
- In the HP App, look for the Scan tile or Scanner section and try launching a scan from there.
- If the Scan option is not available, remove the printer from the HP App and add it again. This can refresh the scanner registration.
- Open Windows Scan:
- Select Start > Windows Scan.
- Check whether the HP LaserJet MFP M234dw scanner is listed.
- If it appears, perform a test scan.
- Open Device Manager and expand Imaging devices. Confirm that the HP scanner is listed without warning symbols.
- Download and install the latest HP software package for the HP LaserJet MFP M234dw from HP Support, then restart the computer and test scanning again.
- If the printer is connected through a network, ensure the computer and printer are connected to the same network and that the printer remains in a Ready state.
A quick test is to initiate a scan directly from the HP App. If scanning works there but not in another application, the issue may be limited to that specific software rather than the scanner connection itself.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
