hp laserjet P1102W
Microsoft Windows XP

My P1102W which i have had for ages is now not printing the left hand side of an A4 page. I'm wondering if someone ( or i) have inadvertently changed the settings.  I can scale it to fit the page manually but  that is messy and I'm not sure whay that is happening.

I am using' Fit to printer margins"   and' auto rotate'  and 'print document and annotations'  - so not sure what is wrong

any ideas?

Hi! @Di15, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand when you print from your printer the printer cuts off the text on the left side.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Have you tried checking with a different brand paper?

Have you tried printing from a different application? Does the issue persist?

As you mentioned when you print from your printer the printer cuts off the text on the left side.

Print a test page from your printer and check if the issue persists.

Try the steps recommended below.

There is one setting in the driver which you can check. It's called Preserve Layout. Make sure that it is set to Yes.

You can find this setting here: Start>Devices and Printers>Your printer driver>
Right click and go to Printer Preferences>Advanced

If the issue still persists try uninstalling the printer drivers from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

Select your HP printer.

Select Uninstall.

In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.

In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

Click on Drivers tab.

Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

Select OK.

Update the full feature printer software using this link: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL32431/bi-80329-11/hp_LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution-...;

If the computer and the product are not communicating correctly, restarting the computer, and resetting the product might help.
Press the Power button, or flip the power switch, to turn off the product.
Restart the computer.
Press the Power button, or flip the power switch, to turn on the product, and then wait until the product is idle and silent.
Try again to print.

Also, if the issue persists install the Windows built-in drivers and check if it helps.
