Hi @smtroxt

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for explaining the situation clearly. I understand that your printer is connected through a USB cable and the display is stuck showing “rd,” with no further activity. I also appreciate that you have already tried downloading and installing multiple drivers in an effort to resolve this.

To guide you effectively, could you please confirm the following details:

  • The exact HP printer model you are using.
  • The operating system version on your computer (for example, Windows 10 or Windows 11).
  • Whether the printer was previously working with this setup or if this is the first time you are connecting it.

With these details, we can provide precise steps from HP resources to address the issue. In the meantime, have you already checked the printer’s status in the HP App or run the Diagnose & Fix tool there? This information will help us narrow down the next steps.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
