printer won't stop printing

The printer will not stop printing "OLD" projects on it's own randomly.  I've caneled print - keeps printing, turn off the printer and turn back on - keeps printing, unplug the printer from the wall - keeps printing ... how can I clear its memory?

A couple of ideas...

Print Queue / Service Reset

Assuming the jobs are coming from the print queue on the computer, the following should help.

HP Document from Troubleshooting > Topic Print

   Print Jobs Stuck in Queue Troubleshooting

and / or

Try / Consider:

Stop print service, clear the print folder, Start print service

Control Panel > icon view > Administrative Tools > Services

Scroll down, find, Right-Click, and Stop Print Spooler Service

Open File Explorer (formally Windows Explorer)

Navigate to the folder and Delete files from C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS

Start Print Spooler Service

Fax Jobs and Fax Memory

If the jobs are coming from the Fax, 

On the printer > open Setup menu, touch the Setup button

Fax Setup menu > Fax Tools > Clear Fax Log

Be aware that clearing the Fax log clears the faxes in memory AND the logs that record the job information.

Read about your Fax in the User Guide before making changes.

And / Or

If the printer is on the network, manage the settings and tools for the printer using the Embedded Web Server (EWS).

EWS allows you to configure and adjust settings, view and clear logs, and perform other important tasks.
