Hi there.

We unpacked for the very first time this printer. It was bought five years ago and has been "in store" on the shelf until now.

The box has never been tampered with which is made visible on the original packing tape and labels. No kind of tears or broken corners from any sign of high impact.

When powering this up for the first time it made som scratching noises upon the initiation.  After this it ended up saying "Initializing". Forever. The drivers are correctly installed and it is presented with correct IP and the printer setup is correct but it shows up as disconnected due to this "initializing" state.

We got the advise to open the doors and close them in a certain order to start a "service mode". It did and came up with "50.7 Fuser Error".

How is this possible with a new printer that hasn't handled a single sheet of paper??

How should I proseed from here. This item is a typical DOA case.

Hoping for some good advise.

Kind Regards

IHJ.

DOA units happen, we deliver several hundred devices a month to clients and we get the odd DOA, even with a perfect box. Your 5 year span from purchase to use may well bite you on the leg here. Are you plugged directly into the wall? Any surge protectors or UPS devices and interfere with proper operation.

Hi Expert.

Appreciate  your answer. Everything is as it should be with supply voltage and the correct drivers and it displays it's IP and the Scanner operates perfectly but communication both ways with the printer is not possible due to this "initializing"

Is it possible to get help with routines for a total reset and possibly new coding from you.

Or do you have a suggestion for a repair or even a dispute on the waranty since the printer is new and has never moved a single sheet of paper.

Kind Regards.

IHJ.

PS: Happy New and Hopefully Normal Year. 🙂
