HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw

hi, one of the HP printers in our lab is HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw. I forgot the password and can't find a way to reset the password. Without a password, I can not get into the "Setup" option. thanks!

You should be able to perform a factory reset from the control panel.  If not then you need to perform an NVRAM reset.  Usually YouTube will have a video on how to do it

If you find the information provided useful or solves your problems, help other users find the solution easier by marking my post as an accepted solution. Clicking "yes" on "was this reply helpful" also increases the chances that this solution will help others.

thank you so much! I googled "NVRAM reset" and find the m227fdw troubleshooting document:

https://www.laserpros.com/img/manuals/hp-manuals/hp-lj-m203-pro-mfp-m227-troubleshooting.pdf

it says that for NVRAM initialization, I should boot the printer while pressing the down-right quadrant of the touchscreen until message "Permanent Storage Init" prompt out. This is what I've learned in the internet and tried before and never worked. However, since this is the official document of HP which convinced me, I kept trying to press different area of the down-right quadrant and succeed finally. Anyway, thanks a lot.
