When trying to print No 10 window envelopes, the window melts in the printer and the envelop gets stuck although the printing is done. Then envelope is destroyed. Changed to NO 10 plain envelope and abosolutely not problem. Tried this with both trays, Still the window melts! I need to print 500 of these envelopes. HELP ASAp

Thirty years ago, the window was made of glassine, a transparent paper. I believe the glassine created problems for post office readers, so the new envelopes have a polyetheline or somesuch window. While this works for P.O. scanners, it melts under the heat of a laser printer fuser. I have had success in covering the window with a piece of index card when it goes through the printer. If you experiment a bit you can make it work. If you a using hundreds per month, get the envelopes preprinted at your local printer.
