laserjet m201dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The printer was offline and Hp tech helped me by changing the router encryption to wep and updated the firmware.

It worked most of the day.  Now when I print, I get a dialog from the systray stating that I am in standby mode.  I went into the toolbox 192.168.0.4 and the status is on standby.  Ipv6 is off and dhcp is set to manual for 192.168.0.4  At any rate, it suddenly started printing but now a notification dialog shows up when printing that I have never seen.  Maybe part of the latest update.

I want to know how to get out of standby short of turning the printers power off and on.  The printer seems to be online.

Maybe the printer always goes into standby and I have never been made aware of it.  Now, I know because of the notifications from the system tray.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

The notification might be due to the latest update

Ensure the Wake Event Feature is turned On to enable the printer to automatically wakes when it receives jobs or when you press a button on the product control panel.

You can change which events cause the product to wake.

Open the following menus: ● System Setup ● Energy Settings ● Sleep/Auto off ● Wake Events To turn off a wake event, select the event, and then select the Yes option.

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a great weekend 😊

I finally talked to your eprint team.  The hp smart is the latest app

On my lg g7 he did a reset on my network settings... a know issue

with oreo 8 and 8.1

The LJ pro m201 dw is different that you have mentioned in your reply.

attached is a photo of my setting in the eco smart console.  changed setting to

1 hr. (sleep/auto off)

ecosmart.jpg

i also changed the io timeout to 7200 instead of 5...

this only because I had a note from the last tech support agent's work last year.

Todd, you may wish to verify what that setting should be.

All appears well.

I did some Google search and the default for the i/o timeout default on other HP printers is 15... so I changed it to that.  Thanks for the input on the ecoSMART setting.  PB
