Hi all,

I am trying to donate this and write it off but I can't figure out which model I have:

I have an HDX 7000 HD rev B (P/N): *2201-28128-001*

Mic (P/N): 2201-23313-003

Camera - MPTZ-6 (PN): 1624-23412-001

Is this the HDX 7000-1080 (P/N: 7200-23140-001) video conferencing kit or the HDX 7000-720 (P/N: 7200-23130-001) video conferencing kit? Also does this include the Eagle Eye HD II or III?

I haven't found anything online that gives a clear distinction. Also I am unaware of the warranty/coverage on these. If I donate this and it has 3.0.3 will it be upgradable for free to 3.1.3? I do not know where the service contract stands.

You have EagleEye HD Camera which output is 1280 x 720, so I have some doubt about 1080 resolution ....

Hmm.. okay so the 720 model. Thanks for that Ovg.

Also if I donate this how does the transfer of the device work? Do I just give them the serial number and they register it and get all the upgrade keys, support, etc?

EDIT:

I just noticed this..aren't you guys concerned with all these serial numbers being posted and floating around? What is stopping me from registering someone elses' unit in my name and registering their product as mine? I almost posted my S/N. Would the original purchaser get notified at least of the new registration? That seems unsafe.

As you have hardware rev. B this device can't be 1080. The question is does it be HD 720 (HDX 7002, 7200-27600-xxx) or SD (HDX 7001, 7200-27670-xxx)?

We could find the answer if you can give us the full serial number - 14 symbols ending CN.

Mike

The serial number is registered for entitlement only.  If you do not have an active Service contract then the serial number will not be able to yield any value to anyone else.  If you do not want notifications from Polycom then you can simply unsubscribe from them when you get them.

The options are associated with the devices serial number and once activated they will remain with that device.  There is no way to 'transfer' licenses once activated and a key is returned.

So the license is only good for the initial organization that bought it, correct? Meaning that this device could be donated but they would have to purchase a license and they would have no way of using mine then, right?

Thanks again for the assistance guys, this community is really good.

No this is not correct. As you could understand from Steven's post all licenses are attached to the device serial number and are transferred with the device from one owner to another.

WBR,

Mike
