Studio E70

Hi to all,

few weeks ago I have purchased Poly Large room solution that includes E70 Camera, GC8 touch control  and HP mini conferencing PC. I have configured equipment on my desk for MS Teams Conferencing, tested and everything works fine. When I have mounted in our conference room everything seams to work, but GC8 can't be used, there is no visible controls on touch screen for establishing calls, also camera doesn't work (won't start video). Only difference is, when I have tested it, and when system was working PC was connected to a monitor via HDMI cable. Now, same setup, only PC is connected to a Smart TV again via HDMI and system doesn't work.

I don't have any clue why connection to this TV causing this problem?

Thanks.

Hi. Make sure to upgrade all components to the latest release (how to check GC8 release: https://aitsc.de/blog/poly-gc8-software-version-pruefen-und-manuell-updaten/).

Update the teams app to the latest release (4.18.44.0) (https://aitsc.de/blog/so-updaten-sie-die-app-ihres-microsoft-teams-room-systems-mtr-schnell-und-easy...).

Make sure to set the maximum resolution for the displays to 1080p in the Windows settings (this is the max for Teams currently) or via XML / Powershell (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/rooms/manage-front-room-scale-res), just in case you´re using a 4K screen (another option would be to use an EDID adapter, which puts out 1080p).

Make sure to configure the GC8 as the primary monitor in the windows settings, if that´s not already the case (https://aitsc.de/blog/ihre-teams-room-system-controls-sind-auf-dem-display-anstatt-auf-ihrem-gc8-hie...).

On the camera piece - do you see the attached camera in the teams admin settings ?

Cheers, Uwe

Hi Uwe,

setting GC8 as primary monitor resolved an issue, and now system works just fine.

Thank you very much

Best regards.
