Hi,

just wondering what the use of a gatekeeper is?  I understand admission control, bandwidth control,...  If you specify a gatekeeper, does the video data flow through the gatekeeper?  Or is it just the initial communication setup which the gatekeeper deals with, and once that's done video only flows between the endpoints?

If you define a VBPST as a gatekeeper, does it forward it's gatekeeper's responsibilities to a CMA?  Or does it 'gatekeep' on it's own?

Hi, you can use your GK to register all your VC systems and use the E164 numbering to dial out.

The CMA can also be useful to manage all your systems. schedule updates and provision profiles.

No, media streams are sent directly between endpoints.

Gatekeeper may operate in two modes:

- Direct, when it provides only the address translation and admission control;

- Routed, when the full control and signal flows (H.225, H.245) are sent through the GK.

Please refer to CMA Operations Guide -> Routing Mode for additional information.

VBP ST doesn't have embedded GK functionality so it just routes the signaling to/from GK (CMA for example). Please take a look on VBP documentation for more details.

add VBP st box in neibouring GK in CMA and create dial rule in CMA for VBP st box so that call should forwarded to VBP st box
