You can delete admin password using IR control. From VS Admin's Guide (can be found at http://support.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/emea/support/video/other_video/viewstation_fx.htm😞

1. On the Diagnostics screen, select Reset System.
2. Enter the system’s serial number.
3. If you wish to restore the original factory settings, select Delete System Settings. This deletes the Administrator’s password, CDR, and CDR archive along with the other system settings.

...

5. Select Reset System

Hope this help.

i have a viewstation FX that I need to reset. I have tried using the directions that tell you to put in the serial number as the password but that is not working. Is there any other way to reset this device?

HP Recommended

1. S/N can't be used as a password if the password was changed. It  is used ONLY for resetting system.

2. Reset can be performed ONLY using the IR remote at the system and NOT in the web interface.
