StudioX30

StudioX30

Software Version:  4.2.2-408037

Teams Version:  1449/1.0.96.2024042606

TC8 Current Version: 6.0.2-211698

Users received a Zoom invite from an outside company.  They forwarded the meeting to the X30 - the meeting was accepted and join button created.  Meeting was joined - and everything was going well until the presenter shared their screen.  I don't know whether they shared their entire screen or just a part of the screen - but the X30 only showed a big black screen.

Based on my quick research, the X30 Teams Room should support receiving shared content in Zoom Direct Guest Join mode but it failed here.

Hi @Adam_In_DC2, Welcome to Poly HP Support Community.

Kindly go to MS Teams application settings under the Studio X30 device and enable the Zoom option. Once done, kindly test the device.

If the issue still persists, I would request that you contact HP Support, and our support engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:.

Hi Salman.  As noted in my original posting - the zoom meeting was joined successfully.  Wouldn't that indicate that the Zoom option located in the TC8 had already been checked?  This was strictly a sharing issue.

BTW - I successfully tested sharing to the same Direct Guest Join device today.  So I think the issue could be the following:

  • What was the OS on their machine sharing?
  • What was the version of Zoom on their machine?
  • Were they sharing from the app – or from an HDMI cable plugged into their laptop?
  • Were they in a secure environment that didn’t allow sharing?

I think there are many factors in this issue.

Thank you for the information.

I understand that the Zoom feature has been enabled in MS Teams. This issue should be verified with the Microsoft support team.

I would request that you contact Microsoft Support for assistance. They might help you to analyze the problem by examining the Microsoft Teams logs. Below is the link to Microsoft support.
