I have a DV6520eo with intel T5250 1.5GHz and looking for upgrade. The T7300 would work, if i am right? What about T7500, T7700 or T7800? power consumption is same, so is the socket, but would they work? Thanks for answers 🙂

Aaw, too bad then... I could've got a sweet deal on the 2 Ghz. model.

Anyway, would this one be compatible:

AMD Turion 64 X2 RM-70/RM-74 be compatible? 🙂

The  Turion Dual-Core RM-70 2.00-GHz processor (35W, 1-MB L2 cache) is compatible.

The AMD Turion™ X2 Dual-Core  RM-74 is not compatible with your notebook.  It has no BIOS support.

The guy I'm supposed to pick the CPU up from says it's a RM-70/RM-74...

What does that mean? Is it a RM-70 or a RM-74? Is it a "mix" of both? :S

It is one or the other, there is no both. They are both 2.2 GHZ processors but they are not the same.   Be sure and check the numbers on the processor before you pay. The RM-74 won't work in your notebook. The numbers you should see on the package(if new) and on the processor are in the image below .

Thank you! He will send a detailed picture later or tomorrow 🙂 I hope it's the RM-70! 🙂

I've tried searching the forum and haven't found my exact situation.

I'm looking to upgrade my laptop from the current i3 processor to an i7 and I was wondering if it's possible, or, if the motherboard isn't compatible.

I've heard everything from a flat out "no" to "it depends (on a lot of different factors)."

I'd like to get a definitive answer one way or another, preferably from a tech or someone who's already tried it.

Thanks so much for any help you can provide since it's near impossible to get any kind help directly from HP.

Please identify your notebook/pc with more than the series number. Look at the base/rear/side of the notebook/pc at the barcoded sticker. Post items numbered 1 and 2 on the following image.

Post the installed operating system version ( and whether it is 32 or 64-bit)
