Hi,
@elyenm wrote:Is it possible to upgrade a HP Compaq Presario CQ61-335SQ with an T8100 CPU ?
Unfortunately that processor is not listed as a compatible one, meaning the BIOS doesn't have support for it.
The Intel Core2 Duo T9400 2.53-GHz processor (6-MB L2 cache, 1066-MHz FSB) is listed as a compatible. one.

Thanks for your information, first time I've actually gotten a straight forward answer! I'll do what you've recommended and I pray it will make things even a little better. Thank you!
As to "straight line copy" it is a graphic design term used to indicate plain text. When I used the term I was trying to state that all I was getting on Internet sites that I use was plain text, but only generic flat art. I'm trying figure out if it's me or the site? A good deal of images come out wonderfully, yet others not even close. I'm going to follow your advice and do the uninstall/install. Once again thanks for your help!

Hi,
I have a Compaq Presario 2100 notebook model: DK576A (the mobile athlon cpu) with latest BIOS KAM 1.60
Has anyone out there been able to get this series to recognize more then 1 gig ram? if so please put here the brand/part#
etc. - I have tried once with 2 sticks of 1 gig each but it did not recognize even a single stick...that was cheap
knock off RAM so i have not attached a great deal of significance to that attempt. I see lots of chatter out there about various
systems that have specifications of 1 gig and users were able to upgrade beyond this. Any ideas / opinions?

If that is the case consider:
trying another browser (Google Chrome, Firefox)
install the latest flash player appropriate to the browser
install a JRE environment

Once again thank you for your assistance in this whole ordeal! My wife does not understand my reasoning for wanting to fix this notebook?? I had to explain that I've never given up, the computer is a piece of cake compared to losing the ability to get around on ones own accord!
Thanks again

Unfortunately my research hasn't discovered any upgrade beyond 1GB.
If you really want to try the upgrade then I suggest that you download and run CPU-z to determine the specifications on the installed memory.
CPU-z is a free and safe utility that will supply you with information about your laptop that you have not had access to. It is a utility generally used by enthusiasts and overclockers . You will see a number of tabs in the interface that link to memory and system board details in a way that otherwise only advanced BIOS screens can show. The BIOS in your laptop is quite basic. The SPD must be the same as the installed memory since the timings and voltage requirement for the SoDimms cannot be adjusted in the HP custom BIOS. If you are able to find a pair (identical sticks!) of SoDimms at a good price that meet the criteria that I stated, then install them. Installing mismatched pairs of RAM..(different manufacturer, different SPD) is very unlikely to result in success.
You may be the first person to have managed this upgrade if you are successful. If you are successful please post your results here in the forum. That will help other owners of the same laptop as they will be able to find your success story when they do an online search (Google, Bing or other search engine )for a solution to the same issue as yours.Best regards,
erico

I found a way to store my pdf files online. I added Google docs to my iGoogle. Here is the link to the manual. Enjoy. 🙂
