Are you sure that the T5500 will work. I just looked up the specs for it. The t5500's system bus is 667 verses 553, it's a 64 bit not a 32 among other things. Don't get me wrong I would love to be able to put the t5500 in but I dont want to spend the $100 and find out it does not work

No. I was incorrect. The manual covers the C300 and the G3000 series. The G3000 series system board supports the core duo processors but the C300 series system boards do not. So...thanks for pushing me to delve deeper. I certainly do not wish to give bad info. Don't spend your money on the T5500 processor. It will give the same results you had with the T2350 processor.

Processor upgrades are very limited in the laptop model series that you own.

I do know that the board supports duo core, I didnt think it would support core 2 duo though. I know the chip set will. One idea that I had was to find a computer that has the same set up as mine. Same board and chip set but supports a higher caliber cpu and flash my computer with the bios of that one. Just a theory to throw out there. I don't know if possible and if so which laptop can I steal the bios from?

Is that a good idea or am I crazy??

Which model laptop do you own?
If you have a newer model and install the compatible memory module(s) it should be recognized as installed by the BIOS.
With the older models set the memory configuration after you have installed the memory.

I have HP type dv2860ee note book having a VGA chips problem board , and we know mostly this modle have common problem can you tell us any upgarde mother board availble for this machine could you send us price for new mother Board and delevery time , we buy from our local Market in Dubai UAE.

I believe you have misunderstand the purpose and function of this forum. We are are a forum... not an online store.

Upgrading the motherboard for a laptop is not as simple as you think it is. Here is a link to the Maintenance and Service Guide for the dv2500 and dv2700 series Notebooks. That is the manual that covers your series as well. You can try the parts surfer to see what is available and chat online with an HP parts representative online.

Hi folks. I have an antique here. It is an HP Pavilion ze4910us. It came equipped with a celeron m 1400 processor. I see in the manual for this unit that it will support up to a centrino 755m, but was wondering if it would also handle a 765m. (just a touch faster).I also wish to know if it can be upgraded above the 1 gig total ram it has. I believe the motherboard specs say 2 gigs, but hp says 1. thank you. NightWinge

Your laptop has the defeatured motherboard. The processors for upgrade are limited to the Celeron M series. The manual I used as reference is here. You can try the Pentium M series listed in the manual, but there is no guarantee that the BIOS for your motherboard will have support for those processors. Defeatured means that the motherboard lacks premium features. The manual covers more than one series and they are not identical.

If you do a parts search for your motherboard and select Electronic Parts ..the processor that is installed in yours (Intel celeron M 360...not 1400) is the fastest of the bunch and runs at 1.4 GHz.. Centrino processors are not listed in the HP Service and Maintenence manual as applicable to the ze4910us laptops.

I believe you are stuck with 1 GB RAM. You can, at your own risk try (if you can find some) guaranteed compatible 1 GB memory modules. I suggest that if you do that, stay with major memory brands...Kingston, Crucial and the like. I suggest searching in Google or whatever search engine is your preference using Pavilion ze4910us and 2GB as the key search terms. You might find that someone has successfully upgraded to 2GB if you are lucky.

attach an external display to your notebook. Use the Fn key and the appropriate hotkey which looks like a monitor to select the external display.
If you see Windows on the external monitor then try a reset as follows:

remove battery and unplug the ac power adapter
press and hold the power button for about thirty seconds.
replace the battery and press the power button
if you now see Windows on your LCD display then all is well.
If not, contact HP tech support since you very likely have a motherboard video chip issue..

Hi,

I bought a few years ago a HP DV6241EU with an AMD turion TL50 @ 1.60GHz.

According to the "Maintenance and Service Guide", it was possible to upgrade the CPU to a TL-60 @ 2GHz.

So I bought one, but when I replace it, the notebook starts for about 15 seconds, without anything on the screen then reboots infinitely.

I thought that it was because of the Bios so I upgraded it from F.3D to F.42 but it didn't fix the problem...

Does anyone knows how to solve this problem or tried the same replacement ?
