"Not always completely reliable" is an understatement. It is asking for trouble to assume that the HP implementation of any specific chipset follows the Intel reference design for the chipset. HP laptops are pure HP and the inner details are often hidden. I would not invest any money based on the assumption, for example, that an HP laptop using a specific chipset will allow all the processors that Intel says that chipset supports.

Thank you ....good to have access to this information.

One of our notebook machines (Compaq nx 6110

P/n: PT600AA#ACQ) needs more RAM. Which type of PC2700 RAM memory will work with this machine? Just want to search and buy the correct RAM.

Thx for helping

Ferdie

The Crucial memory modules on this web page will work.

As I would like to upgrade the processor, I wonder which options are available for the motherboard and chipset.

Thank you in advance.

Use this Maintenence & Service guide as a reference. Be sure and match the systemboard type (UMA & discrete) to the one you have to determine which CPUs are compatible. UMA means onboard (integrated into chipset) video and discrete models ( have AMD Discrete Graphics ATIM92S2LP w/Hypermemory support). Yours is likely to be UMA, but verify it as you know the specifications of your notebook.

I would like to help, but if you don't identify your notebook with the complete product number or product name, it is impossible.

Hi!

I wanted to ask if there are any plans for providing us with newer drivers for hd 7660g + 7660m since there hasn't been an update in nearly 4 months. Also the latest update from March really can't be considered as an update since it made many of my 3d programs to run slow as hell which means there must be huge incompatibility issues. Plus, I'd really like to see a newer driver since i've heard the newer drivers fixed the ogl issues a lot of ati users were encountering in Photoshop.
