Hi @Rods1000,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips, Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand you are looking to recover your files or you want to have a set of recovery media for your HP laptop. Don't worry I'll try my best to help you with this,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

What is the product number of this computer? (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Was there any update/reset interrupted, recently?

Have you made any software or hardware changes made on the PC?

When was the last time it worked (date)?

What are you exactly about to do, could you please elaborate more on the issue as this will help me in further assisting you?

In the meantime, let's try to follow these steps here:

Perform a Hard Reset

In case if you are able to boot the computer to the desktop screen, you could try to backup your data or create a set of recovery media using recovery media creator.

I will wait for your response. Eager to assist you. Cheers!
