Android 9.0 Pie

I am unable to sign into the HP smart app on my tablet.

Every time I sign in it tries to load on the next screen ( you will be redirected to HP smart in a few seconds)  but then I get the message " your redirect is taking too long, click here to return"

I have no problems with signing in on my Android phone, laptop or Chromebook it is only on my Android Tablet.

The app is up to date (9.0.1.3) and the tablet is a Galaxy tab A8 running Android 11.

Hi @snowdrop23jane,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Meanwhile, try the below suggestions -

Update the android-

  1. Open your phone's Settings app.
  2. Near the bottom, tap System System update.
  3. You'll see your update status. Follow any steps on the screen.

Try and uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app from the app store.

Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

Click the “Yes" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping

Me too, just stated in last few days. When I tap an icon on the Hp smart dashboard, I am told I am being redirected to Hp smart, then get told the redirect is taking too long. Tried all the usual stuff like restarting tablet (Samsung tabA) reconnecting to router, uninstalling and reinstalling the hp apps, (print service plug-in and hp smart). Nothing works! Hp help is a waste of time, only recognises predefined questions. Can anyone help?

Same here, it was working fine a few weeks ago but it apparently logged me off and now is not allowing me to sign in (Samsung S9). Cleaned cache, data, uninstalled and reinstalled again, nothing works.

I am having the same problem on my Google pixel 4a phone now, everything is up to date on both devices.

It is allowing me to use the app even without signing in so at least I can print.

I had the same problem on my Mums Chromebook before Christmas but it eventually sorted it out.

Its seems this is a HP problem as others seem to have the same problem.

Also experienced this on my Galaxy S7. With this many people having the same issue, I would assume it's on HP's end.

Hey @Jay_G24,

Any update? I was able to log in after dozens of attempts. Not sure how (brute force maybe).

The app seems to enjoy logging you out after a day or so and I'm back at the same problem failing to log in repeatedly.

I can't print from the app on the desktop successfully. I can't find the same settings as the mobile app and it constantly prints at a poorer quality and with the designs misaligned. I really need this app to work consistently for my business.

  5. Tap Browser App, and then select browser app you downloaded earlier.

  6. Return to the HP Smart app, and then log in or create an HP Smart account.

if the default browser on your Android device is Samsung, follow these steps to log in to or create an HP Smart account.
